Managing Your Backlog

💡

This post assumes you’re already working with us and have been given your Asana project link already.

Managing or part-managing your own Backlog

Generally your backlog will be managed by your PM, but you may also jump in and manage it yourself, under the condition that you follow the guidelines below.

  • Please create good tickets 😊, otherwise our momentum will be impaired. We’ve put together a guide here with examples: Writing Good Tickets
  • Please don’t assign a ticket directly to a developer. After you’ve created a ticket or set of tickets, let your PM know in Slack or Asana & they’ll get them assigned for you. Generally we try to focus on high-impact work (Boulders) from Monday to Thursday, and lower impact work (Rocks & Pebbles) at the end of the week. See Ticket Categories for more.
  • Please make sure to set the correct fields so we can keep Asana organized. Please don’t leave fields empty.
    • Category: See Ticket Categories for guidance.
    • Sprint: Please set this to “Backlog” and we’ll assign it to the correct week.
